As I encourage you to explore your own healthier life journey, I have my own experiences to share. For starters, I’m a single mom of two teenage sons and have been a registered nurse for nearly twenty years, and recently became a Certified Health Coach in the field.

The best part of becoming a Health Coach is having a better understanding of my own issues with weight. Growing up, I never had to think about what I was eating. I was always active and in good shape. As I got older, there were the life stressors we have as adults – and the weight started piling on, I didn’t even realize it when it was happening. It seemed like all of a sudden I had gained so many extra pounds. This started the cycle of losing and gaining weight for years. A number of years ago, I was within 30 pounds of being at my goal weight, finally. I was feeling really good about myself, about how my clothes were fitting and, most importantly, how I felt physically. I felt healthier, I had more energy, I was sleeping better, and basically felt happier overall. Then, more life changes – and the weight was steadily going back on. It seemed like no matter what I did, I could not lose the weight permanently.

While taking a health coach class, I learned about the relationship of my life to the foods I was eating. I had to take a hard realistic look at my life, what parts I am happy with and which parts need improvement.

Like most people at the start of a New Year, I’m making my resolution to make obtainable goals with sustainable changes. I’m inviting you to join me on my journey to a healthier life. I would love to help you on your path. I know, I’ve been there.
